36 Weeks of Learning, Faith, Creativity & Adventure
Homeschooling doesn't have to mean perfectly planned days, endless worksheets, or checking off every box.
A Year of Wonder was created for families who want a little more structure and a lot more inspiration—especially families with young children who learn best through play, creativity, exploration, and everyday life.
This 36-week homeschool enrichment guide gives you a flexible framework for building a meaningful school year without overwhelming your family.
Rather than another curriculum to complete, this guide is designed to work alongside the curriculum you already use, giving you ideas for the learning that happens beyond the core lessons.
✨ What's Inside
📅 A 36-Week School Year
A suggested school-year rhythm running from the week after Labor Day through Memorial Day, including lighter weeks, holiday breaks, spring break, and a final celebration week. The schedule is intentionally flexible so you can adjust it around your family's needs, vacations, holidays, and adventures.
🕯️ Morning Basket Ideas
Simple suggestions for starting your day with prayer, Scripture, read-alouds, memory work, and optional hymns—without turning your morning into another formal lesson.
🏡 A Simple Weekly Rhythm
A sample Monday–Friday schedule that gives each day a little focus, including core academics, co-op, Bible study, art, nature, physical activity, music, home economics, and life skills. Use it as written or make it your own.
🌿 36 Weekly Themes
Each week offers a new topic to explore through books, crafts, hands-on activities, practical life skills, music, field trips, and conversation.
Themes range from community helpers, apples and autumn, animals, Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas, winter weather, space, American history, Lent, Easter, plants, butterflies, bees, animals, oceans, and explorers.
🎨 Create & Explore
A collection of simple, approachable craft and activity ideas designed to complement the weekly themes—including watercolor projects, nature activities, science exploration, cooking, service projects, and more.
✝️ Faith Woven Throughout the Year
Catholic-inspired themes, saints, virtues, Scripture, and seasonal traditions are naturally incorporated throughout the guide. The guide also includes suggested saint connections for topics such as animals, travel, art, gardening, teaching, science, cooking, and medicine.
While the guide is Catholic-inspired, you do not need to be Catholic or religious to use and enjoy the majority of the resource. Faith elements can simply be adapted to fit your family's beliefs and traditions.
🧺 A Homeschool Craft Cabinet
A practical list of basic art, craft, and nature supplies to help you build a small collection of materials you can draw from throughout the year—without feeling like you need to buy everything at once.
📝 Weekly Planning Pages
Each week includes a simple planning framework with space for:
- 🌿 Theme
- ✝️ Saint
- 🙏 Virtue
- 📚 Books to Read
- 🎨 Art/Craft
- 🔬 Hands-On Activity
- 🍳 Kitchen/Home Economics
- 🚗 Field Trip or Adventure
- 🎵 Song/Music
- 💬 Something You Want Your Children to Know
And most importantly: you don't have to fill in every box. Choose what inspires you and leave the rest.
🤍 Made for Real Families
This guide was created with one simple idea in mind:
Homeschool can be intentional without being overwhelming.
Some weeks you'll have the time and energy for crafts, field trips, nature walks, cooking, and extra reading.
Other weeks, you might manage your core lessons, read a book together, and call it a day.
Both are okay.
The goal isn't to create a perfect homeschool.
The goal is to create a homeschool that works for your family.
Use this guide as a starting point, a source of inspiration, or simply a place to turn when you find yourself wondering:
"Okay...what should we do this week?" 😂

🌸 A Note About This Guide
This resource is designed as a supplemental enrichment guide, not a complete academic curriculum.
It does not replace your family's core curriculum or require you to follow a particular educational method. Instead, it gives you a flexible framework for adding creativity, faith, nature, practical life, exploration, and hands-on learning to the academic work you're already doing.
Take what serves your family. Adapt what doesn't. Skip anything you don't need.
There is no "wrong" way to use this guide. 🌿
